Swimming

Once a year the Home Builders Association has a party after the Parade of homes for all the home owners, builders and their family. They usually do dinner, blow-up slides, awards, and swimming where they rent out a pool for the night. My dad won 1st place landscaping, and 2nd place in best home and interior design! Richard didn't go swimming with us, but he had a lot of fun taking pictures.
It takes a while for Landon to warm up to idea of getting in the water, but loves it once he does. As long as he doesn't get water in his face.
Carson's favorite part was looking for bugs. Can you see them? Me neither, but he does.
Landon could play with balls all day and all night. No matter what he's doing there's normally a ball associated with it somehow.
Carson loves to smile. His personality has come out so much in this past two months.

They made it to the Tournament!

Richard's softball teams been winning most their games this year. Tonight was their first tournament game and they won again. Landon and Carson love going to watch daddy play ball. We've been able to make it to most of his games this year because the weather's been so nice and most of them have been earlier in the evening than last year. It's hard to believe that next year Landon may be starting up T-ball.
It seems like my boys are wearing these matching shirts in half my posts. Truth is, it's very unintentional. They just tend to be wearing them the days I decide to take pictures. Like today, we weren't even planning on going anywhere. But I must say, they do look cute. Despite Richards humble side, he's really good, and in Landon's words "daddy, you're a really great ball player."

Nelson Family Night

Once every month my family gets together for a combined family night. This month Richard and I were over the activity and lesson. We all met at Salem Pond and we played Water balloon toss with towels, three legged races, and then we ate cupcakes and otter pops. Our lesson was on teamwork, thanks Richard. And afterwards some of the little kids went over to feed the ducks. It was really cute, one the the mommy ducks had about 9 baby ducklings following her. The kids loved that. James (Richards brother), Becca and Grace came too, we're glad you were there, thanks for coming.

Here's a picture of all the cousins who were able to make it. We're missing James and Tiffany, maybe we'll try again next time.

Landon's Birthday Spotlight

I thought I'd spotlight Landon, and some of the cute things he says.
1- On those morning when he just wakes up too early he comes to me in bed and says "Mom get up, need to fix me dinner".
2- After any meal for a long time he would say "Thanks dinner mom, wuv you, help down please?"
3- Mom "Time to go potty Landon". Landon "Too late", or "I just went last night".
4- For a couple of months whenever anyone was sad because they got hurt, or he didn't want to do what we asked him to he would break out in song "Hap birday to ew, hap birday to ew, hap birday dear ____, hap birday to ew."
5- "Mom, I need an older movie, I two"
6- Anyone "Landon, your a big boy", Landon "No, I a nice guy"
7- Grandma Russell calls Landon's head a noodle "Don't break your noodle". So one day Richard asked Landon what was in his head "Noodles".
8- Richard asked Landon if he wanted to take a shower and Landon said "No, I just take a low water, I not like high waters."
9- This morning Landon was telling me about the bruise on his head from hitting it on my knee yesterday and called my knee my (elbow leg.)
10- If Carson wakes up from a nap crying Landon will go into his room singing him Twinkle twinkle little star to cheer him up.

It's so much fun to hear the things kids say. Happy Birthday Landon!

Cake and Presents!

I even made his cake

Hogle Zoo

This was Landon and Carson's first time to the Zoo, and they loved it. Landon's favorite was the Crocodile, and Carson I think Carson's was tie between the monkeys and the bear. Or at least, those are the sounds he can match with the animal now:)

Our new home from the inside

Okay, so it's been almost 2 months. But I finally have the pictures after our camera breaking, our vacation, and the flood. That's why it's taken so long:)

Good old Americana living room.

I love my new kitchen, mostly the dishwasher. I would like to get curtains above the sink. All in good time.

I cant' even tell you how much I love having a kitchen table. Not only does it beet the 16 inch counter against the wall in our last place, but I love eating dinner around a table where you're together as a family looking at each other and talking. And it really makes me want to fix a dinner cause it's not just a 3 minutes, eat and leave. So I really love our new kitchen table. Oh, and it extends for company:)

Yeah, our rooms are so small here we were luck to fit two beds, as you can see.
Yes, I finally got new curtains to match our bed spread. Curtains are well needed here with the quality of our blinds.
When we first moved in Landon would always talk about his new "bafwoom", and this is what he would show people, instead of his bedroom and toys.

I just love having two bathrooms:)

Bob the Builder

A few days ago my dad was on his was to a meeting when they called and canceled it. So he decided to stop by for a visit. While he was here Landon wanted him to help build a tower, so grandpa showed him the biggest tallest tower ever. Thanks for stopping by dad:)

"Y" Lookout

My painting teacher lives near the Y on the mountain. I made here some summer dresses for two of her little grand daughters in exchange for classes. So when I went to drop them off to her we decided to to go to the Y lookout. Landon was cute when that high up looking over the valley everything looks so small. Landon saw 7 Peaks water park and said, mom look at that toy. The rest of the time Landon and Carson sat on the stairs throwing rocks.
